Melody Alston is a native Washingtonian with deep community ties. Her parents & family have been community organizers and public servants. This has fostered a keen sense of community, loyalty, and trust with her clients from Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia. Volunteering and community involvement has always been at the forefront of Melody’s life. As a young girl she began her philanthropic journey as a candy striper for Medstar Washington Hospital Center and has continued to find ways to help service those in need. Her career choice in the insurance industry is a prime example of that innate aspiration. Prior to entering the insurance industry, she was a pre-med student at a local University, with a minor in psychology and a concentration in genetics; she originally planned to become a pediatric oral surgeon for impoverished communities.
Melody consistently earned a position on the dean’s list during her time in undergraduate school. In addition to achieving a B.S. degree in Biology from Trinity University, she was also inducted into the Beta Kappa Chi National Scientific Honor Society.
In the summer of 2006, she began working for a nearby Insurance Agent as an intern and later went on to become a retention specialist for the Agency. Melody is the mother of 5 remarkable children ranging from ten to twenty years of age; after welcoming her 5th child in 2013, she decided it was time to open her own Agency.
